Westcombe Park is a bit of a local secret. As quiet and private a place as you could wish for, with tranquil, attractive tree-lined streets populated with everything from grand Victorian and Edwardian villas to smaller family houses and modern flats, it is one of the few areas of London where you get a really strong sense of community. It even has its own award-winning (and free!) community newspaper promoting and organising local community events.
Everything is so convenient: it is on major bus routes to the O2 and Jubilee Line tube at North Greenwich and also has two mainline stations, Maze Hill and Westcombe Park.
It’s well placed halfway between the shops of Trafalgar Road in East Greenwich and the Blackheath Standard, where you can find a branch of M&S Simply Food, charming cafes and pubs, and independent, traditional and some delightfully quirky shops.
The area also boasts a number of outstanding schools such as Halstow and Invicta Primary Schools, John Roan Secondary School, Blackheath High School for Girls, a Steiner School and several other private schools including Pointers.
Being a neighbour of both Greenwich and Blackheath you also have the added benefit of the heath itself, and glorious Greenwich Park.
